Yet another member of the greatest era of the Indianapolis Colts franchise has joined the elite of the elite in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The greatest kicker in NFL history, Adam Vinatieri being named a member of the class of 2026

So many of Vinatieri’s former teammates from his time with the Colts and the New England Patriots have congratulated the kicker on social media. That’s never been former Colts quarterback Andrew Luck’s style though.

Instead he took the time to congratulate his former teammate after a question he received on the ref carpet. He was asked to speak on the Hall of Fame as a whole but Vinatieri’s accomplishment was all the former number one overall pick felt the need to comment on.

Andrew Luck takes time during Super Bowl week to congratulate Adam Vinatieri

Luck has never been one to enjoy the limelight. So seeing him make the rounds this week ahead of the Super Bowl has been pretty cool. He’s been able to speak on life after his shocking retirement and has faced questions on himself and his new job as the general manager of Stanford’s football program.

Being able to talk about how great his former teammate is and congratulate him is much more Luck’s speed. So even though he wasn’t asked directly about Vinatieri, it shouldn’t shock anyone that he took the time to speak specifically about his former teammate.

“You know what, I’ve been at dinners so the only thing I’ve seen were text messages about Adam Vinatieri, my old teammate, which I’m thrilled about. He is amazing. He’s the best, man, and he is well deserved.” – Former Colts QB Andrew Luck

Luck and Vinatieri played together for the entirety of Luck’s career from 2012 to 2018. Vinatieri’s last season came in 2019, which was the year Luck retired during the pre-season.

Luck never had to play without the Hall of Fame kicker, and got to see how great he was even at the end of his legendary career. They are two of the greatest talents ever to wear a Colts jersey and are people that fans will always remember fondly.
