Anthony Richardson showed exactly why the Colts are willing to bet on him, and it wasn't even on the field

The Indianapolis Colts picked up a much-needed win in Week 3 over the Chicago Bears. However, it wasn't due to a stellar performance from their starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson.
His lackluster showing has led some in the Colts fan base to question his ability to lead the team. But I think the way he has taken accountability for his poor outing is something we don't typically see from young players.
Richardson threw two interceptions during their Week 3 win, and he only completed 50% of his 20 pass attempts. He also couldn't find the endzone on the day as neither a passer nor a runner. So it's safe to say he had a bad day, but the team still pulled out the win, which at times can push individual poor performances under the rug. Richardson isn't allowing that for himself, though. He made sure to share with NFL Network's Stacey Dales, but more importantly, he took accountability in front of his team in the locker room post-game.
"Hey, that's the first one of many. Shoutout to the defense for sticking in there with us and playing hard, we appreciate that. O-line, great job blocking for JT. Trey, good job getting in that box. Hey, I'm gonna perform better for y'all boys. I got y'all, but great team victory; let's keep it going."
– Colts QB Anthony Richardson
The Anthony Richardson experience was always going to have its ups and downs. In Week 1 against the Texans, we saw some of the incredible highs he can reach as a player, but Weeks 2 and 3 showed us how bad the lows can be. With him having to spend the majority of his rookie season on injured reserve, the two main goals for Richardson this season are to stay healthy and find a way to be more consistent as a passer.
In the meantime, the Colts must see their starting quarterback not let poor performances like Week 3 kill his confidence. Instead, he needs to use it as a learning moment and improve going forward. We will have to wait and see if he can do just that in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team has to love to see Richardson remain confident while also taking full accountability for his misses. I advise fans to remain patient with Richardson this year because that's exactly what the team is doing. We are bound to see more poor decisions and throws as he attempts to complete his first full season in the NFL. But he's also going to display the ability to make plays most QBs could only dream of doing, and that's why the Colts are betting on both the player and the person Anthony Richardson is.
Colts legend TY Hilton is still finding a way to dominate the opposing team from the stands
It's been three years since T.Y. Hilton suited up as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. But he made sure to make his presence known during the Colts Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears, this time in the stands instead of on the field. Hilton was, without a doubt, a legend on the field […]
