This season didn't go as planned for the Indianapolis Colts as a whole. Their most recent loss in Week 17 to the New York Giants officially eliminated them from the playoffs.
A big reason was the up-and-down sophomore season of quarterback Anthony Richardson, who simply didn't have enough ups. Now, his season has come to an end with the news that he has been ruled out for the team's Week 18 matchup vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The same back injury that head coach Shane Steichen labeled as "soreness" was later revealed to "back spasms" and then again revealed to be a disc issue in his back.
It has forced him to miss the season's final two games, including last week's game, where a win would have kept the team's playoff hopes alive. Richardson has now finished the first two years of his NFL career, making only 15 starts.
The playoffs aren't on the line this week for the Colts, but pride certainly is for many in that locker room. A loss in Week 18 would mean they finish the year with only seven wins and are swept by their divisional rivals, the Jaguars. Their first matchup with the Jaguars was also without Richardson, who missed due to a separate injury. This means it'll once again be Joe Flacco, who despite the loss, had a strong outing against Jacksonville in Week 5 by throwing for 359 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

The team's devasting loss to the New York Giants in Week 17 left most fans angry or completely checked out until the offseason. However, Raekwon Davis has been recognized for his work off the field, which should be celebrated even if the team […]
