The Indiana Fever, the Indiana Pacers, and the Indianapolis 500 all honored Jim Irsay over the weekend

Since Irsay's passing, both of Indianapolis' professional basketball teams, the Indiana Fever and the Indiana Pacers, have had home games. First, the Fever, who elected to have a moment of silence in the building to honor Irsay. And the Pacers followed suit yesterday as they held a moment of silence ahead of game three of the Eastern Conference finals. And of course, the Indianapolis 500 was over the weekend, and they also had a moment of silence for Irsay Sunday afternoon. In an additional tribute, the event had one of Irsay's daughters, Casey Irsay Foyt, wave the green flag, which signals the race beginning.

Sports run deep in the city of Indianpolis, and though Jim Irsay is no longer with us, his impact on the city and the sports that take place in it will live on forever. Many will remember his generosity and support of the city, their sports, and the citizens. And he will live on forever in the hearts of those associated with his beloved Colts. When training camp arrives, we will likely see the Colts have some form of special tribute to their long-time owner. The team has now been passed on to his three daughters, and the 2025 season for many will be played in honor of Mr. Irsay.
