The Indianapolis Colts decided that one WR wasn't enough in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The team used the 142nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on Oregon State WR Anthony Gould.

Gould's numbers as a WR at Oregon State may not blow you away with him having 84 catches for 1,360 yards and 6 touchdowns over the last three years. He saved his best for last though with him setting career highs with 44 catches for 718 yards.

Where Gould really shines as a prospect is in the return game. He possesses game changing speed which he displayed at the 2024 Scouting Combine with a 4.39 40-yard dash, and a 4.16 shuttle. And his explosiveness for his size is shocking with a 39.5" vertical and a 10'9" broad jump. He averaged 16.4 yards per punt return over his entire college career, and with the new return rules in place he has a chance to be a real weapon for the Colts.

As a WR he will compete to be starting slot WR Josh Downs' primary backup. I think head coach Shane Steichen is probably already thinking of ways to use his speed in the offense in similar ways that we saw Isaiah McKenzie used last season. All I ask for is at least one play where both Downs and Gould are running all over the place in pre snap motion.
