The Colts are getting one of the strongest defneisve linemen in this class in Tuimoloau. And while he wasn't the most efficient pass rusher throughout his career, he elevated his game to a level the Buckeyes had never seen during Ohio State's National Championship run. During their four games in the College Football playoff, he was credited with 6.5 sacks, 20 pressures, 10 tackles for loss and one forced fumble.

Before this pick the Colts only had one edge rusher on their roster. whowas under contract after the 2025 season, Laiatu Latu. Tuimoloau will help the Colts to have a elite run stopper off the edge even if Kwity Paye is off the field, which they've struggled at when he's missed times. And with Paye needing an extension after this year, it gives the Colts a player they could elevate to the starting lineup opposite of Latu in the near future.
