One look at the Indianapolis Colts roster, and it's easy to see why so many people think they have a major need at tight end.

The room produced little to no production throughout the season this past year, and arguably, its top two players are both set to be free agents this offseason. So, it wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that the Colts had a formal meeting with consensus top TE Tyler Warren.

Warren spoke with NFL Media on Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. He won't participate in on-field drills, but Warren got to experience playing in Lucas Oil Stadium during the Big 10 championship this past year against Oregon. Penn State lost the game, but Warren led the Nittany Lions in receiving with seven receptions for 84 yards.

Warren is a do-all TE who could have filled a walk-in closet with all the hats he wore at Penn State. He shared his thoughts on his versatility by saying, "I think I can do a lot of different things. Whatever the offense wants from week to week is what I'll do. And that could change from game to game, and I'm a guy that can do a lot of different things and fill a lot of different roles."

Warren also shared that he formally met with the Colts at the combine. So it seems safe to assume the dynamic TE is a legit contender to be the team's selection if he is still on the board when they pick at 14. His ability as a pass catcher and blocker would be a perfect fit in the Colts' offensive system. And with Anthony Richardson going into a true make-or-break season, a safety blanket target like Warren would give him a much better chance for success.
