The Indianapolis Colts saw flashes of what Anthony Richardson can become, but his season-ending injury was the story of his rookie season.

Here at A to Z Sports, our brand named five offensive players primed for a breakout this season, and Richardson made the list.

Richardson appeared in four games during his rookie season and was forced to leave two of those games early with injuries. He completed 50 of his 84 pass attempts for 577 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also added 136 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

His ability as a dual-threat QB has many around the Colts and the NFL anxiously waiting to see his return to the field for his sophomore season. With a QB like Lamar Jackson being so dominant during his career to date and earning two MVP awards, it's fair to see why. Jackson himself played in a limited capacity as a rookie, with him only starting seven games. He took a giant leap in year two, where he was selected to the Pro Bowl, named a First Team All-Pro, and was voted the MVP of the NFL.

We saw Houston Texans QB CJ Stroud have one of the best rookie QB seasons ever last season. If Richardson can take the leap into stardom himself this season, fans will get to watch two of the bright young stars in the NFL duke it out for the next decade-plus. That would be a win for not just fans of both teams but football fans everywhere.
