All of the discussion surrounding the Indianapolis Colts is focused on the quarterback position. And rightfully so, given everything that has transpired for the franchise since Andrew Luck retired.

Getting that position right is so important. Indianapolis has played musical chairs behind center with veteran signal callers since Luck called it a career. Obviously, that has not worked out too well.

Therefore, the Colts are widely expected to grab their next franchise quarterback in the first-round of the 2023 NFL Draft. A former Colts' All-Pro has made it known who he wants to be the selection.

Pat McAfee was an All-Pro performer while with the Indianapolis Colts. Now, he is one of the biggest personalities in the sports media world. During his recent podcast, he had former Colts defensive back Darius Butler on to talk the draft.

Butler played multiple seasons with the Colts and is now an NFL analyst. He believes that Anthony Richardson is the quarterback that Indianapolis should be eyeing.

Butler points to how Richardson would fit into Shane Steichen's offense in Indianapolis. Steichen likes to run RPOs, use his quarterback's legs, and put his signal caller in favorable positions to succeed.

Richardson is a very toolsy prospect that has a ton of upside behind center. He has a rocket arm, is dynamic on the move, and makes plays that can't even be coached.

All of that makes him an appealing option for a team looking to fill their hole at signal caller.

As of right now, Anthony Richardson has the third best odds to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft – behind fellow quarterbacks CJ Stroud and Bryce Young. Meaning there is a real possibility that the former Florida star will be on the board for Indianapolis.

Richardson already has the support of former Colts players in Butler and McAfee.
