Many fans have begun to express their worry regarding Richardson's health. And it's hard to blame them, knowing the recent QB history they've dealt with. But I urge fans to remember that it is just now June.
If any player has even the slightest discomfort, teams will often limit their workload during minicamps or hold them out altogether. We are still over a month away from Training Camp kicking off, and teams usually don't even attempt to risk player's health this early into the offseason.
Head coach Shane Steichen shared that if the team was preparing for a game right now, Richardson would have taken the team's first-team reps. So while, again, I understand the worry fans have about these types of situations, I feel pretty confident saying this was clearly a case of the team playing it safe with their young QB, who is returning from a season-ending shoulder injury last season. If this remains an issue, come Training Camp, I think anyone who is currently worried would be justified.
