The Indianapolis Colts addressed their major need at tight end in the first round by selecting Penn State star TE Tyler Warren with the 14th pick.

Now, they enter day two, where they will be able to focus their attention elsewhere. They own their own picks in both rounds and could always trade back from either spot to gain more capital. Looking at the players available below, I have come up with options they could consider in rounds two and three at positions that they most likely are heavily considering.

Edge rusher:

Edge rusher is a position likely on the table for both the second and third rounds. The team only has one player currently on its roster in the edge room who is under contract past the 2025 season (Laiatu Latu). So if a player high on the board falls in their lap in either round, you have to assume they walk out of day two with one.

Players to consider in round 2:

  • Donovan Ezeiruaku, Boston College (Likely have to trade up for)
  • Bradyn Swinson, LSU
  • Landon Jackson, Arkansas
  • Josiah Stewart, Michigan
  • JT Tuimoloau, Ohio State
  • Mike Green, Marshall (Depends on how they feel about the questions surrounding his character)

Players to consider in round 3:

  • Oluwafemi Oladejo, UCLA
  • Jack Sawyer, Ohio State
  • Elijah Roberts, SMU
  • Ashton Gillotte, Louisville

Linebacker:

Outside of Zaire Franklin, the Colts' LB room seems like a bit of a mystery. Second-year player Jaylin Carlies has a ton of upside, and the team would love to see him take a sophomore leap this season. However, it would be irresponsible to enter training camp with no viable options to compete with him. I think LB is on the table for both the second and third rounds, and there are some solid options to consider.

Players to consider in round 2:

  • Carson Schwesinger, UCLA
  • Demetrius Knight Jr., South Carolina
  • Smael Mondon Jr., Georgia (I said it and I won't apologize)

Players to consider in round 3:

  • Smael Mondon Jr., Georgia
  • Barrett Carter, Clemson

Offensive Line

The Colts like to use day three picks on offensive linemen, but they have a big need at guard with their starting spot at right guard up in the air ahead of training camp. If they want to find a day one starter in this class, their best bet would be to use one of their day two selections on the spot.

Players to consider in round 2:

  • Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona
  • Tate Ratledge, Georgia

Players to consider in round 3:

  • Miles Frazier, LSU
  • Charles Grant, William & Mary
  • Marcus Mbow, Purdue

Defensive tackle

The Colts love to add talent at defensive tackle in the draft. They need to find a backup they can trust to stop the run to play behind Grover Stewart. But Stewart and DeForest Buckner are also not getting any younger. So I wouldn't rule DT out for either the second or third round.

Players to consider in round 2:

  • Darius Alexander, Toledo
  • Omar Norman-Lott, Tennessee
  • Joshua Farmer, Florida State
  • Alfred Collins, Texas

Players to consider in round 3:

  • CJ West, Indiana
  • Ty Robinson, Nebraska
  • Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

Cornerback

The Colts made a big splash at cornerback this offseason by signing former San Francisco 49ers CB Charvarius Ward. They are currently set to compete with Jaylon Jones, Samuel Womack, and Juju Brents for the second starting outside CB spot. But if an opportunity arises to add a talented CB, I think the Colts would seriously consider it.

Players to consider in round 2:

  • Will Johnson, Michigan
  • Shavon Revel, East Carolina
  • Trey Amos, Ole Miss
  • Azareye'h Thomas, Florida State

Players to consider in round 3:

  • Darien Porter, Iowa State
  • Nohl Williams, California

Running back

The Colts need to find a reliable backup to Jonathan Taylor, so he doesn't have to carry the entire workload at RB for the team to be successful, like in 2024. They will also want that player to be able to be trusted in pass protection due to Taylor struggling in that area throughout his career. I don't suspect the Colts to consider adding an RB in the second round, and I'm honestly skeptical they would use their third rounder on the position. But I do think the third is where they could begin considering taking one.

Players to consider in round 3:

  • Damien Martinez, Miami
  • Devin Neal, Kansas
  • RJ Harvey, UCF
  • Cam Skattebo, Arizona State
