The Indianapolis Colts improved to 3-0 by picking up their first divisional win of the year in Week with their win against the Tennessee Titans. The Colts dominated the Titans throughout the game and ultimately beat their AFC South rival 41-20.

For the Colts, they are already past the game and on to their Week 4 opponent, the Los Angeles Rams, but this matchup had some bigger consequences for the Titans. Titans head coach Brian Callahan announced on Tuesday that he would be relinquishing play-calling duties.

The Titans hired Callahan due to their strong belief in him as an offensive mind to help develop their future franchise QB. That player is now the 2025 first overall pick, Cam Ward, but things aren’t going to plan in Tennessee. Their offense has struggled tremendously, and they are now making a significant change to their offensive game plan, with Callahan no longer calling plays. Instead, the team is giving that responsibility to QB coach Bo Hardegree.

This is a significant change for the Titans, as it often marks the first of many steps that ultimately lead to the head coach being fired. The Colts are already feeling great about where they stand, but anytime you can force a divisional opponent to feel so discombobulated that they make this drastic a change, you are doing something right. In Week 3, the Colts held the Titans under 300 total offensive yards as Ward had arguably his worst start of his young NFL career. The writing is now on the wall for the Titans to fire Callahan sometime either during or after the season. And whenever it does, I think we can look back to the Colts’ dominating win in Week 3, playing a big role in that eventual decision.
