Former Colts WR Daurice Fountain announces his retirement

The Colts drafted Fountain in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Before making the jump to the NFL, he had a four-year collegiate career at Northern Iowa. He recorded 150 receptions, 2,077 yards, and 23 touchdowns over four seasons, with his best year coming during his senior season, when he recorded career highs across the board with 66 receptions, 943 yards, and 12 touchdowns. He began his college career as a two-sport athlete, as he was also a member of Northern Iowa's track and field team. He competed in multiple events as a runner and earned all-conference honors during his final year participating in track and field in 2016 (his junior season).
He spent his first three years in the NFL with the Colts and appeared in six games, recording two receptions for 23 yards. Sadly, one of his three years in Indianapolis was spent rehabbing an injury. Foutain was a player who turned heads in training camp early in his career, but he wasn't able to capitalize on the hype he generated.
After leaving the Colts, Fountain joined the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2021 season. There, he appeared in two games but never recorded a catch. Since then, he has been a member of the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions, but has never been able to secure a spot on their active roster.
