Andrew Luck’s time with the Indianapolis Colts might have ended earlier than anyone wanted. Still, he will always be remembered as one of the best QBs ever to represent the franchise.

Though he walked away from his playing career, he couldn’t stay away from the game of football forever. He is currently the general manager of Stanford’s football program. A position that multiple schools across the country have introduced in the NIL era of college football.

Luck went with an interim head coach this season, turning to his former Colts head coach, Frank Reich. He has led Stanford to a 4-7 record as they head into their season finale against Notre Dame. Luck and Stanford have found their permanent head coach ahead of that game, though, as they are hiring Tavita Pritchard.

Andrew Luck and Stanford football are hiring Tavita Pritchard as the school’s next head coach

Pritchard has served as the Washington Commanders QB coach since 2023. He most recently has worked with Commanders QB Jayden Daniels, who won the 2024 NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

He played his college years at Stanford as a quarterback from 2006 to 2009. Oddly enough, Pritchard was the QB Luck took over for in 2008. The two were teammates and worked together in the QB room; now, they will work together to rebuild the Stanford football program.

Luck’s first head coaching hire was one of his former head coaches, and now he turns to a former teammate. Familiarity continues to be important to the former Colts QB. Pritchard will take over for Reich following the Commanders upcoming game vs. the Denver Broncos this Sunday.
