We are at the point of the offseason where teams are beginning to decide whether certain veteran players will remain with the team.
And a former Indianapolis Colts starter is hitting the free agency market with the news of Mark Glowinski being released by the New York Giants.
Should the Colts bring Glowinski back?
I think the Colts feel very comfortable with their starting offensive line going into next season being:
LT: Bernhard Raimann
LG: Quenton Nelson
C: Ryan Kelly
RG: Will Fries
RT: Braden Smith
That group was expected to be the starters all year, but they didn't get to see them together much due to multiple injuries. When they did, though, they saw just how good that group can be. So, I don't think the Colts would look at Glowinski as a starter over Will Fries. But if Glowinski is willing to take a deal to be a primary backup, I think he would be a great fit with the Colts.
The Colts picked up Josh Sills off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles last year, and he served as the primary backup to Fries and Quenton Nelson when needed. So adding another veteran to compete with Sills to give the Colts reliable depth options on the offensive line makes a lot of sense. And Glowinski knows most of the Colts' starting offensive linemen well from playing with them from 2018 to 2021 before landing a big deal with the Giants.
