The Indianapolis Colts picked up a big win in Week 3 over the Tennessee Titans, but there were some things to be concerned about following the game.

The most significant being the injury status of star CB Kenny Moore II, who left the game early with a calf injury. There was some concern growing that the injury could be severe, so an update on the situation was needed on Monday. NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided that update, which included good and bad news.

The good news for the Colts is that Moore II seems to have avoided a serious injury. The bad news, though, is that he is expected to miss some time. Head coach Shane Steichen confirmed the injury to the media on Monday, and he shared that the team is not considering placing Moore on the IR. This seems to indicate that the team believes he won’t have to miss up to four games, which is the minimum requirement for players placed on IR.

In response to Moore’s injury, the Colts signed veteran Mike Hilton to their practice squad. Hilton played the same role in defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s defense on the Cincinnati Bengals, which makes him the perfect fit to fill in for Moore for however long he has to miss.

I would expect the Colts to elevate Hilton to the active roster from the practice squad for a maximum of two times before they move him to the 53-man roster. If he plays well in that stretch, I would expect the Colts to add him to their active roster for the remainder of the season.
