Colts get an important update about their newest player CB Sauce Gardner ahead of Week 10
Sauce Gardner’s Colts debut seems officially set.
The Indianpolis Colts were the talk of the town during the NFL trade deadline this week. Multiple notable moves were made, but the Colts’ trade for Sauce Gardner was by far the most surprising. So now fans anxiously await Gardner’s Colts debut. The last hurdle standing in the way was him clearing the NFL’s concussion protocol. And we just got big news on his status for Week 10 in Germany vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
Sauce Gardner clears concussion protocol and will make his Colts debut Sunday vs. the Falcons

Gardner has cleared the concussion protocol, which seemed to be the direction things were heading in after he practiced in a regular jersey on Wednesday instead of a non-contact one. This means he will make the trip to Germany with the team and make his Colts debut vs. the Falcons. It won’t be an easy first matchup by any means, with star WR Drake London waiting for him.
London and Gardner have only played each other once in their careers. That matchup came in Week 13 of the 2023 season. London was only targeted once while Gardner covered him, and it was incomplete. London finished that game with only one reception for eight yards, giving Gardner the advantage on the day.
London has taken multiple steps forward as a player since then, though. He is eighth in the league in receiving yards through the first nine weeks with 587 yards. The most impressive part about that is that he’s already had his bye, so he’s done that in only eight games. He is also coming off his best day of the season with 118 yards and three touchdowns.
Gardner is still learning the Colts’ playbook, and the team’s CB room is not at full strength with Charvarius Ward still on the IR. Seeing how deep into his bag Lou Anarumo is willing to go will be interesting. I do expect Gardner to travel with London during this game, though, which should be a fun way to introduce Colts fans to their new star CB.
