Colts land Daniel Jones a new weapon to replace Michael Pittman Jr. and form a lethal trio in a new 2026 NFL mock draft
The Colts take a different approach than most expect in a new 2026 NFL mock draft by giving Daniel Jones a new wide receiver instead of addressing major needs on the defensive side of the ball.
The Indianapolis Colts decided to bet on the offense’s historical start from last season, handing Daniel Jones and Alec Pierce massive contracts this offseason. This has led many to assume the team will focus on the defense early in the 2026 NFL Draft. In a recent mock draft, they give Jones another weapon to help the offense hit the road running in 2026.
The Colts had to trade Michael Pittman Jr. away this offseason in order to sign Pierce to his new deal. So while the team has clear defensive needs, wide receiver is certainly on the table early in the 2026 NFL Draft.
In a recent A to Z Sports mock draft, the Colts land a talented wide receiver. This would give the team an exciting starting trio at the position going forward.

Colts select Tennessee WR Chris Brazzell II in a new 2026 NFL mock draft
With the 47th pick, the Colts landed Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Chris Brazzell II. Brazzell just finished up his fourth season of college football, three of which he played prominent roles. During his true freshman year, he redshirted after only appearing in two games. He began his career at Tulane and, after two years, transferred to Tennessee.
He finished his career appearing in 40 games, recording 2,072 yards and 16 touchdowns. This past year was a breakout season, setting career highs across the board with 62 receptions, 1,017 yards, and nine touchdowns.
The Colts are returning Pierce and Josh Downs as two of the team’s starting wide receivers. They could still really use another playmaker on the outside to pair with them. Some may think Pierce and Brazzell have to play the same role, which makes this pairing questionable. However, I think it would give the Colts two outside wide receivers that can be interchangeable as the X and Z.
Pierce has been one of the best deep-ball wide receivers in the NFL over the past two years. Now, as the number one wide receiver, his role is going to be expanded. Defenses are also going to focus more on his deep-ball ability.
Now insert a player like Brazzell, and the team has two talented deep threats to keep defenses on their toes. If Brazzell actually slides down the board and is available at pick 47, Indy should consider him. Defense should be their focus, but the Colts have made a major investment in Jones as their quarterback. This pick would help them get the most out of him as their quarterback in 2026 and beyond.
