June 14, 2023; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen speaks with media Wednesday, June 14, 2023, after mandatory minicamp at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center in Indianapolis.

Things have been beyond bleak between the Colts and Jonathan Taylor. But even so, head coach Shane Steichen remains positive around his running back.

A day likely won't pass when the media asks Shane Steichen about disgruntled RB Jonathan Taylor. Today though, felt different as it was the 1st time we have heard from Steichen since Taylor's trade request was made public. Still, Steichen continued his hopeful response, sharing that when Taylor is cleared, "he'll play."

Steichen has shared that exact sentiment after other practices as well. But him keeping that same positivity after the trade request was made public is significant. It shows a sign that the team believes, even through all of the drama that has been happening online, that Taylor, who has been showing up to practice every day while on the PUP, will suit up when healthy.

It may not be much, but any positive news on the Taylor-Colts front deserves its time in the sun. Because we know how much time all of the negative news is getting.
