With this hire, the Colts most likely just finalized their full defensive staff. They moved on from their linebackers and secondary coaches after choosing to part ways with defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. They have now replaced both, with Hewitt being the most recent hire. Hewitt has been with the Ravens since 2012 and has worked with their secondary since 2014.

He was promoted to associate head coach along with being their defensive pass game coordinator this past season. But this offseason, the Ravens and Hewitt mutually decided to part ways. Over the past two years, Hewitt has been someone many teams have interviewed to become their defensive coordinator and is very well-respected for his work with Baltimore's secondary over the years. He now joins Anarumo's staff and will help the team make their drastic shift in defensive philosophy this season. Which could come with some major shake-up to their roster in the secondary.
