With starting QB Anthony Richardson likely heading to the temporary IR, the Indianapolis Colts are looking at their options at QB.

The team held a workout with multiple QBs as they are considering adding a QB while Richardson is sidelined.

The team worked out four QBs in total:

  • Kellen Mond
  • Ian Book
  • Holton Ahler
  • Trace McSorley

Kellen Mond

Mond was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the 66th pick in the 3rd round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has spent time with the Vikings and Browns during his career. Mond spent his college years at Texas A&M, where he threw for 9,661 yards, 71 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions in four seasons.

Ian Book

Book was drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the 133rd pick in the 4th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has bounced around since being drafted, as well as the Saints he has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, and New England Patriots. Book spent his college years at Notre Dame, where he threw for 8,948 yards, 72 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions in four seasons.

Holton Ahler

Ahler went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent and was released from their practice squad in early September. Ahler spent his college years at East Carolina, where he threw for 13,927 yards, 97 touchdowns, and 37 interceptions in five seasons.

Trace McSorley

McSorley was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 197th pick in the 6th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent two years with the Baltimore Ravens before moving on with the Arizona Cardinals, where he made his first NFL start where he lost to the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime 19-16. Along with the Ravens and Cardinals spent time with the New England Patriots this offseason. McSorley spent his college years at Penn State, where he threw for 9,899 yards, 77 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions in four seasons. McSorley's popularity goes beyond the football field, as a viral song was made about the QB in 2018 by Matty Fresh. Anytime a post about McSorley is made, you will likely see lyrics from this song filling up the comments to this day. Who knows, maybe the kid from "Briar Woods" is coming to Indianapolis.
