Colts defense will be shorthanded and the Jaguars will be without a young ascending player
Both the Colts and Jaguars’ inactives lists have notable players that each side will miss during their Week 14 matchup.
The Indianapolis Colts are facing a must-win situation today against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A win, and they retake their place in the driver’s seat for the AFC South crown; a loss, and their chances at even making the playoffs will be on life support.
There will be some rough weather during the game, and the Colts will have to overcome a decade-long curse to get the job done. They now also know that they will be shorthanded on defense and that the Jaguars will be without an ascending young WR.

The Colts already knew they’d be without DeForest Buckner, who has to miss at least one more game with a neck injury that landed him on the IR. Now they are also without star CB Sauce Gardner, who left last week’s loss to the Houston Texans with a calf injury, as well as depth edge rusher Tyquan Lewis.
With Gardner sidelined, I’d expect to see Mehki Blackmon and Jaylon Jones both get run with the starters. And with Lewis sidelined, it opens up another big opportunity for rookie JT Tuimoloau to step up and play a role when his number is called.
Jaguars officially without ascending young WR Parker Washington
The Jaguars’ WR core hasn’t lived up to their hopes before the season. Travis Hunter is on the IR, and Brian Thomas Jr. has been off the field with injuries and has struggled when on the field. Parker Washington has been a big bright spot for the team, but today they will be without the WR. Due to the rain, the passing games likely wouldn’t have been the headline of the matchup either way, but it’s a significant loss for the Jags.
