Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is one of the best players, regardless of position, in the NFL. He is an elite tailback that is a true workhorse and provides first-year head coach Shane Steichen with an big-time weapon on offense.

Taylor is exactly what Steichen needs for his run-heavy offense in Indianapolis. The Philadelphia Eagles had the best ground game in the league under Steichen's watch, which should get Taylor back on track after a down 2022 campaign.

But Taylor is far from the only reason for optimism on the Colts heading into the 2023 NFL season. That's because the Colts spent their first-round pick on quarterback Anthony Richardson, who is unlike any QB prospect ever.

Richardson is a rare athlete behind center. In fact, he tested better at the NFL Scouting Combine than any other signal caller to every go through the athletic testing.

That, combined with his gifted on-field abilities, made him such an intriguing player in the draft. Someone that the Colts simply couldn't pass up when they went on the clock to make their selection.

"I didn't want to look up and watch him be a superstar somewhere else," Colts general manager Ballard said. "If he's gonna be a superstar, he's gonna be a superstar for the Colts."

Taylor echoed similar sentiments. The All-Pro running back has high expectations for what he and the rookie signal caller out of Florida can accomplish together. NFL defenses have been put on notice.

"It's going to get real scary out there on the field for opposing defenses," Taylor said of he and Richardson during an appearance on the Horseshoe Huddle.

Now that the 2023 NFL schedule has been revealed, the focus is shifting towards the Indianapolis Colts taking the field in September. Jonathan Taylor has only added more excitement for fans in the meantime.
