"It wouldn't be a distraction to me," Taylor told the Indy Star, via NFL.com. "I'm under contract here for four years, I put the pen to the paper, so that's where I'm at right now. I have an obligation to them, and an obligation to me, but things will happen naturally."

Running back is a position that has lost significant value across the league. The wear and tear at the position is noticeable, and teams have had success without paying their ball carriers big money.

However, Jonathan Taylor is a unique talent and an important piece to the franchise. Head coach Shane Steichen and general manager Chris Ballard will be put to the test in regards to how they handle the situation.
