Taylor suffered a career-worst season in 2022. He was hampered by injuries, a midseason coaching change, and musical chairs at quarterback. Now back and healthy, Taylor looks primed for a bounce back season.
Betting odds are pointing that way, too. In fact, BetOnline lists the Colts star back as the betting favorite to lead the NFL in rushing yards yet again. At the moment, he has 15/2 odds in the category.
Which is just ahead of Nick Chubb and Derrick Henry, who round out the top-three. Chubb has 8/1 odds, while Henry sits at 9/1. Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Bijan Robinson lands inside the top-five, too.
For Taylor, it makes since that he sits atop the list. For one, he just accomplished the very feat two seasons ago, when he was fully healthy. Secondly, he will be playing in a run-friendly scheme under head coach Shane Steichen.
Steichen coordinated the Philadelphia Eagles' rushing attack for the past two seasons, which was probably the best in the league – especially last season. Add in the fact that dynamic rookie Anthony Richardson will likely start at some point relatively early, and the running lanes will be there.
At the moment, Taylor is looking to cash in and sign an extension for the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. Assuming that gets done, all eyes will turn to his push to lead the league in rushing yet again.
