The Indianapolis Colts improved to 6-5 on the year after their Week 12 win.

And Jonathan Taylor impressive performance not only helped the Colts get a win but etched his name into the team's record books.

Taylor has now rushed for the most rushing touchdowns of any Colts player in their first four seasons. His two in Week 12 brought his total to 37, which passed the previous record held by Marshall Faulk.

What makes this even more impressive is that Taylor had to miss time late last season and early this year with an ankle injury. And we still have six games remaining of Taylor's fourth season.

Faulk spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Colts before being traded to the Saint Louis Rams. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in 3 of his first four seasons and had double-digit touchdowns in each of his first two years. Below is the stat line Faulk accomplished during his first four seasons in the NFL.

  • 1,065 carries, 4,001 yards, 36 rushing touchdowns

In comparison, below is Taylor's career stats as he is currently in his fourth season.

  • 856 carries, 4,255 yards, 37 rushing touchdowns

With six gamers remaining in his fourth season, Taylor has had 209 less carries than Faulk through four seasons and still has recorded 254 more yards and one more rushing touchdown. Taylor is truly on a hall-of-fame level pace to begin his career, and now, with his new deal in place, we know that he is here in Indianapolis for the long hall.
