The Indianapolis Colts are all-in on 2023 NFL Draft first-round selection Anthony Richardson. Richardson is the franchise quarterback and the player that head coach Shane Steichen is hitching his wagon to.

Richardson is an elite athlete behind center with all the tools in the world to thrive in Indianapolis. He is exactly what the franchise has needed since Andrew Luck called it a career just ahead of the 2019 season.

But the Colts must surround Richardson with talent to ensure that he succeeds. Indianapolis added North Carolina wideout Joshua Downs to Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce in the draft. The team added another wideout this week.

Indianapolis inked veteran receiver Juwann Winfree to a one-year deal on Tuesday. The team released defensive end Guy Thomas to make room for the acquisition.

Winfree has spent four seasons in the NFL after being selected in the sixth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played out his rookie campaign with the Denver Broncos before moving over to the Green Bay Packers, where he has been for the last three seaons.

The veteran receiver played his college ball at Colorado, where he was one of the more dangerous pass catchers in the PAC-12. He has flashed some of that talent in limited action on the professional level.

In Green Bay, Winfree appeared in 12 games over three seasons with the Packers. Winfree saw snaps at wide receiver and on special teams as he found a way to stick on the roster from 2020 to 2022.

This is a low-cost, low-risk addition to the roster for the Colts. Winfree is the latest move that the team has made this offseason in hopes of bolstering the receivers unit, as Indianapolis also signed Isaiah McKenzie and drafted Downs.
