There are so many mock drafts circulating with the 2023 NFL Draft just a weeks away. Several of which have the Indianapolis Colts taking the fourth best quarterback in the class with the No. 4 overall selection.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard has to come away with a quarterback. There really isn't getting around that fact. He knows, Colts fans know it, and the league knows it, too. Which makes things tricky with Indianapolis already slated to draft behind two QB-needy teams.

So, Lance Zierlein of NFL.com went in a different direction in his latest mock draft. Instead of waiting around for a rookie, Zierlein has the Colts making a splash through a trade.

In Zierlein's mock, just one quarterback is off the board in the first three picks: Bryce Young to the Carolina Panthers. That would be the best-case scenario for the Colts if the draft falls that way.

Because that would give Indianapolis its pick of CJ Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis, in theory. Instead, Zierlein has the Colts taking a different route and instead trading the No. 4 pick to the Baltimore Ravens.

If a trade is going to get done for Lamar Jackson, you would think Baltimore would like it to happen before the draft — especially if the deal is with the Colts, who hold the fourth overall pick. It would be hard to pass on Stroud in this spot.

The Colts get Lamar Jackson, while the Ravens draft Stroud. Meaning that Indianapolis finally solves their QB problem, and Baltimore resets behind center with a signal caller on a rookie deal.

Such a scenario playing out for the Colts is as good as it gets. A dream scenario, for sure. Lamar Jackson next to Jonathan Taylor in Shane Steichen's offense is appointment television.

Colts fans would surely sign up for this coming to fruition.
