Colts land a major sleeper who is being overshadowed by one of his teammates in a new 2026 NFL mock draft
A new three-round 2026 NFL mock draft has the Colts landing a sleeper in the upcoming class at a position of need.
The Indianapolis Colts’ choice to trade for CB Sauce Gardner will force them to wait till Day 2 to make their first selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, along with 2027. This puts extra pressure on that pick to hit and become a legit contributor for the team.
A new A to Z Sports 2026 mock draft has the Colts landing one player who is being undervalued due to being overshadowed by a higher-profile teammate. Though he may have played second fiddle in college, he has a chance to be an even better pro than many realize.
Colts select Texas Tech pass rusher Romello Height in new mock draft
“The Colts’ lack of a first-round pick makes it crucial to find a Day 1 contributor in the second round. Currently, the team has only two edge rushers under contract for next season. Although Romello Height has been overshadowed this year by David Bailey, he appears to have first-round talent in his own right. Despite the Colts’ struggles with drafting edge rushers, they need to find a game-changer at that position moving forward.” – A to Z Sports new 3-round mock

In this mock, the Colts elected Texas Tech’s Romello Height in the second round. Height is tied for the eighth most sacks in the country this season, with nine through 13 games. His Texas Tech teammate, David Bailey, has the second-most in the country with 13.5.
According to Pro Football Focus, among players who have played at least 50% of snaps this season, Height has the 10th most QB hurries with 35 and the ninth-best rep win % at 21.1. He possesses a nice frame at 6-3 and should test well. He has a nice shot to catapult his draft stock into the first round, but if he falls into the second, he should be a top target for the Colts.
