Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Bernhard Raimann (79) and Indianapolis Colts tight end Kylen Granson (83) celebrate with Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (11) after a touchdown Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Bad news struck the Indianapolis Colts today.

Head coach Shane Steichen told the media that LT Bernhard Raimann has entered the NFL's concussion protocol. That likely means he is out for Sunday's game.

With Raimann now expected to miss Sunday's game, the Colts will likely turn to rookie Blake Freeland. During the preseason, he had his struggles but showed solid promise.

Freeland is a solid athlete at the tackle position. He will likely see at least a few matchups with star DT Aaron Donald, as the Rams are big on lining him up all over the offensive line. And with a rookie at LT, I'd imagine they have that matchup circled.

Raimann isn't the only Colts lineman not at 100%, as center Ryan Kelly remains in concussion protocol and right tackle Braden Smith seems to be questionable for Sunday's game.
