The 2023 NFL Draft is center of attention for the Indianapolis Colts and every other team around the league. Especially given the glaring need at franchise quarterback for the Colts.
With that said, it's difficult to not look ahead to the 2024 draft. A year out, there looks to be a handful of game-changing prospects that have surely already caught the eye of front offices around the league.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is certainly among that select group. The son of Indianapolis Colts legend Marvin Harrison has scouts buzzing a year in advance of being eligible to enter the NFL Draft.
Harrison Jr. signed with Ohio State as a blue chip prospect out of high school. Since then, he has emerged into one of the best wide receivers in all of college football.
As a true sophomore last fall, Harrison caught 77 passes for 1,263 yards and a whopping 14 touchdowns. He averaged 16 yards per reception in 2022 and was a terror for defensive backs to deal with every Saturday.
The Colts' legacy has NFL scouts buzzing, as a result. Coaches and scouts that were in attendance for Ohio State's pro day earlier this week were wowed by what Harrison Jr. can do out wide.
Unfortunately, he cannot enter the draft for another year. He is only two years removed from high school, meaning he has to spend one more season on the collegiate level. Good news for college football fans, but not so much for Colts fans who want to see him follow in the footsteps of his legendary father.
The Indianapolis Colts will all but surely select its franchise quarterback in this year's draft. Perhaps things work out to where that selection will be throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr. for years to come.
