The Indianapolis Colts sit at 4-5 on the year, with a stretch of winnable games coming up.
So far through the season, the team has seen multiple impactful individual performances. But who has been the midseason MVP for the Colts?
After looking at the first nine weeks of the season, I think the MVP for the Colts is pretty clear. But I may have to rename the award a bit. MVP stands for "Most Valuable Player," but the person who I believe has been the most valuable part of this Colts team isn't a player at all.
Colts Midseason MVP: Shane Steichen

The Colts hired Shane Steichen to be their newest head coach this offseason, fresh off him leading the Philadelphia Eagles offense all the way to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35. Steichen made it clear that while he is now the head coach, he still planned to be the playcaller.
Things haven't been easy for Steichen in his first season. His tenure began with contract disputes with star RB Jonathan Taylor, and he'd end up starting the season on the PUP list and miss the first four weeks. When he finally returned, the team would lose starting QB Anthony Richardson to a season-ending surgery to repair his shoulder on his throwing arm. Add that to the fact that the team's starting offensive line has barely played together this season, as three of the team's five starters have missed time this year, and you'd expect the Colts offense to be near the bottom of the league. But that's not the case.
Steichen has led the Colts offense with multiple backups in the starting lineup, including his QB, to being the only team in the NFL to score 20 or more points in every game this season. The Colts have the 11th most passing yards, 8th most rushing yards, and have scored the 5th most points in the NFL this season. Steichen has proved himself to be an incredible offensive min, and the Colts must be happy with their decision to make him their head coach.
