The buzz surrounding Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson is far from lacking. Actually, it continues to grow each time that the first-round NFL Draft pick takes the field for practice.

Richardson has injected a level of excitement at the most important position on the field that the fan base has been lacking since Andrew Luck retired. Thus, the anticipation continues to rise for the former Florida quarterback to take the field.

Furthermore, the buzz and hype surrounding the quarterback extends past the fan base. Head coach Shane Steichen and general manager Chris Ballard have been vocal about Richardson. So have players on the roster. In fact, a starter was the latest to join in on the hype train.

Offensive tackle Braden Smith has not been around Anthony Richardson for very long. Yet, the veteran Colts starter is already taking notice of what the rookie brings to the table. That includes the tangibles and intangibles.

"He's all in," Smith told the media about his new QB. "I see him every day. He's there's early in his iPad studying the plays. He has great attention to detail. (Richardson) just comes to work every day."

Smith was drafted in the third-round back in 2018 out of Auburn. He had the chance to play with Luck, and he's also experienced the carousel that the Colts have had behind center over the past few seasons.

"I don't know what I expect from a high first-round pick, but I mean, I guess you could think that he'd be guy that might be a little cocky. But this guy's the complete opposite of that. He's a blue-collard guy. Keeps his head down and works," Smith said.

Winning over the locker room and making a big impression on the roster is so important for an incoming quarterback. The early returns in that regard have been nothing but positive for Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts.
