August 15th, 2023, is officially the day the Anthony Richardson era began in Indianapolis.

Head coach Shane Steichen announced after practice that the rookie QB is the team's starter.

Tuesday's practice marked the third outing in a row that the team elected to have Anthony Richardson operate as the starter, which was the first time either QB between Richardson and Gardner Minshew had been given that opportunity.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen began his media availability after practice Tuesday with the news of Richardson being named the team's starter. And Jake Arthur of Horshoe Huddle caught the entire statement on video.

Anthony Richardson shared after practice that he was shocked when he was told he was named the team's starter. Kevin Bowen of 1075 The Fan caught Richardson's full remarks after practice.

With the starting QB battle officially in the books, the Colts will now turn their focus towards catering the offense to fit QB Anthony Richardson's strengths. And they will have the opportunity to do so with a live opponent for the next two days as the Chicago Bears will be in Westfield at Grand Park for joint practices with the Colts Wednesday and Thursday before their preseason matchup Saturday.
