The Indianapolis Colt have made important moves this offseason to bolster the roster and add weapons to the roster. Which is smart as Indianapolis transitions to first-year head coach Shane Steichen and rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson.

Such moves include signing former Buffalo Bills wideout Isaiah McKenzie in free agency and selecting North Carolina receiver Joshua Downs in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Those two add to a corps headlined by Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce.

Now, the Colts have made another acquisition in hopes of adding more speed and dynamic ability to the offense. Indianapolis agreed to terms with former first-round pick Breshad Perriman, who spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Perriman is a speedster that can take the top off the defense when given the opportunity. However, his inability to stay healthy and be a consistent playmaker has hampered his career.

The Colts worked out Perriman over the weekend before agreeing to a deal with the burner on Monday. Perriman has played seven seasons in the NFL, and the Colts are hoping that his speed will be useful in their offense.

Indianapolis has some solid pieces on offense in Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman. Alec Pierce is an emerging young pass catcher, while McKenzie brings some valuable experience. Downs is a player that many are high on.

Still, it doesn't hurt to bring in a player like Perriman. Best case, his speed and after-catch ability unlocks the offense in a big way. At worst, he provides some depth and competition on the outside as the team preps for next season.
