The Indianapolis Colts sit at 3-5 after the first eight weeks of the 2023 season and now must make some big decisions. 

With the NFL trade deadline this week, I decided to share which players are the most likely to be traded away. 

1. TE Mo Alie-Cox

The Colts will have to make a decision at TE with Jelani Woods nearing a return from IR, which could open the door for them to trade away veteran Mo Alie-Cox. The room currently consists of multiple young, talented players. 

  • Jelani Woods
  • Kylen Granson
  • Andrew Ogletree
  • Will Mallory 

If the Colts can find a team to send them a day three pick swap for Cox, I think it would open the door for them to keep all of their young talent at the position going forward. This makes him the most likely trade candidate on the team. 

2. RB Zack Moss 

This one may come as a shock to many, but hear me out. There are multiple teams around the league looking for RB help. Moss is on the last year of his contract and is having the best year of his young career. With the Colts paying Jonathan Taylor, I think it is highly unlikely they will pay Moss as well, especially if someone offers him a starting job. 

So it may be smart for the Colts to sell high on the NFL's 2nd leading rusher this season and give Moss a chance to build off his strong year and find a long-term starting spot elsewhere. It would hurt to see Moss go just as he is finding his rhythm in the NFL, but I think it would be a good business move for the Colts, especially if they can get a decent pick in return. 

3. CB Kenny Moore II

The Colts corner room is at an all-time low, which makes this move unlikely, in my opinion. But Kenny Moore II is playing on the last year of his contract and is having an excellent bounce-back season. Multiple teams around the league are looking for help to stop the high-powered passing offenses that are running the NFL. 

If the Colts decide that Moore II isn't in their long-term plans, they may be able to get a better trade package for him than people realize. Trading him would be a big blow to their already thin corner room, though, which would only occur if they are truly waving the white flag on the season, and from what I've been told from my sources inside the Colts building, that couldn't be further from the truth.
