Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen has officially ruled two starters out for their Week 9 matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

He announced that CB Juju Brents and RT Braden Smith are out this week.

With Brents out, the Colts will have to look at their options at CB again. After last week's disaster, it feels safe to assume that the team won't send Tony Brown out as the starter on the boundary. They could return to Darrell Baker Jr., who has also had his fair share of struggles. Another option would be to see what they have in rookie Ameer Speed, who the New England Patriots drafted in the 6th round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Colts claimed Speed off of waivers on October 20th, and he has yet to debut with the team.

With Smith out again, the team would turn to rookie Blake Freeland, but he is also on the injury report and is a game-time decision. If Freeland also can't go, the team will have to figure out their next option. The most likely option would be to move guard Arlington Hambright to RT this week. Hambright spent time this offseason at tackle for the team. Having to play your third option at RT with a special player like Brian Burns coming to town is less than ideal.
