Yet another injury involving an Indianapolis Colts rookie occurred this past week.

Rookie CB Juju Brents is now expected to miss Week 8 and potentially more with a quad injury that knocked him out of the team's Week 7 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Arguably, the thinnest position on the Colts roster now will be missing their top boundary corner. What will the Colts do at CB while Brents is out?

Move Kenny Moore II to the boundary:

The first option the Colts could elect to do is to move Kenny Moore II to the boundary where he already spends some of his time. This may seem like the most logical option, but defensive coordinator Gus Bradley seems to be reluctant to do that.

"Obviously, Kenny can play outside, but now the inside portion and how valuable he is on the inside. Now you're getting him out there in 11 personnel and in nickel and just all the pieces to that. I'm not going to lie to ya, we looked at that. We're still discussing what's best for the team. But I would anticipate him playing more inside just because he is so valuable for us there."

So, while Moore II is the best corner to replace Brents, it seems that the Colts don't want to lose the special ability he brings to the slot corner position. While things could change, for now at least, Bradley shut down this option.

Have Darrell Baker Jr. play through his struggles:

When Darrell Baker Jr. has operated as the team's starter this year, he has struggled mightily. Opposing QB's have attacked him often. The Colts liked what they saw from the 2nd year corner during training camp, so much so that they named him the top boundary corner on their initial depth chart. But he hasn't been able to bring his strong camp into the season.

Now he seems like the next man up for the Colts following Brents' injury, which makes this the most likely option while Brents is out. But is it wise for the Colts to play a corner they know is struggling? One thing is for certain, if this is the route the team goes, Baker Jr. has to do everything in his power not to be the liability in coverage that we've seen so far this season.

Look at outside help:

This option likely only happens if the team finds out Brents will miss extended time, which I've been told is a possibility. If that becomes the reality, I believe a move at CB would be important if the team chooses to stay on course of fighting for a playoff spot, which I do. With the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching (October 31st), they could look to make a trade for a corner like Buffalo Bills Kaiir Elam, who has been a healthy scratch five times this season after being drafted in the first round last year.

If they decide a trade isn't the route for them, they could look at the free agency market to add to their CB room. A veteran like Casey Hayward comes to mind, who has extensive playing experience under Gus Bradley. While he is 33 years old and looked to have taken a step back last year with the Atlanta Falcons, his overall understanding of the scheme could make him the perfect mid-season addition to an inexperienced CB room.
