The Indianapolis Colts picked up a 23-16 win over the Tennesee Titans in Week 5. This win ended their five-game losing streak to the Titans.
Multiple players had strong performances, but this week's Colts Player of the Week has to be Zack Moss.
All week long, the talk was about Jonathan Taylor returning to practice. And then, on Saturday, the big news of his contract extension with the team broke. This made many believe Zack Moss would return to being just a backup, but that wasn't the case on Sunday.
Moss operated as the team's starter, while Taylor only saw ten snaps in his 2023 debut as the team Is easing him back into the rotation. And to say he made the most of this opportunity would be an understatement.
- 23 rushes, 165 yards (7.2 avg), 2 touchdowns
- 2 receptions, 30 yards
Moss became the first player to rush for over 100 yards on the Titans defense this season and did so in a dominant fashion. Moss has earned a role with this offense going forward, even when the team decides that Jonathan Taylor is ready to be their starter again. With starting QB Anthony Richardson set to miss time, I expect the team to lean on their run game even more, which opens up the opportunities for Moss to continue to be an impact player for the Colts this season.
