Colts players hit with news they didn’t want to hear from the NFL after being down in the dumps about missing the playoffs
The NFL just kicked a couple of Colts players while they were already down after the team missed the playoffs, with some extra bad news ahead of the offseason.
Things were already bad for the Indianapolis Colts after the team lost its final seven games to miss the playoffs, but things just got worse for a couple of players.
The Colts lost its season finale to the Houston Texans, which cemented the team to finish the year below .500 with an 8-9 record. Indianapolis now enters the offseason with numerous questions about what it must do to finally end its five-year playoff drought.
Two Colts players got hit with some extra bad news ahead of the offseason. The NFL announced its Week 18 fine list on Saturday. That list included Colts defensive linemen Neville Gallimore and Adetomiwa Adebawore.
Colts defensive linemen Neville Gaillmore and Adetomiwa Adebawore fined by the NFL ahead of the offseason
The Colts’ defensive line didn’t play up to the standards the team had set for the unit ahead of the year. Both Gallimore and Adebawore performed well throughout the season, though. Unfortunately, they now enter the offseason with a little less money in their pockets.
Gallimore signed a one-year deal with the Colts last offseason and is set to become a free agent in a couple of months. He got fined $7,430 for an unflagged act that the league deemed unnecessary roughness. That play involved him ripping the helmet off Texans offensive lineman Jake Andrews in the second quarter.
Adebawore really started to ascend down the stretch of the 2025 season. He was one of the team’s best pass rushers after his snap count increased due to DeForest Buckner being placed on the IR. The Colts are hoping he can take another step forward next year, but unfortunately, his 2025 season is ending on a sour note, as the young DT has been fined $6,829 for a hip-drop tackle he made on Texans RB Woody Marks.
