That makes the Indianapolis Colts Week 6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars so important. That was the worst we've seen this Colts team play all season. And multiple people stepped up to the plate to accept the blame for the team's poor play.
Shane Steichen:
The head coach will always get fingers pointed at them after a loss, but Colts head coach Shane Steichen is doing it to himself. After the game, he made a point to speak on his own performance before any questions could be asked.
"Obviously got ourselves in a hole there with the turnovers. Starts with myself doing a better job there. I thought our guys fought hard, and in the end, we can't put ourselves in a hole I got to be better again, like I said, and hats off to Jacksonville."
Gardner Minshew:
The Colts backup quarterback threw three interceptions on the day. And while his head coach took the blame for those, he blamed himself.
"They did a good job, they got some pressure, but at the end of the day I was careless with the ball. I didnt do a good enough job taking care of it. I put our team in a really bad spot, that's not fair to the rest of the guys. Going to look at this, hold myself accountable, not going to tuck our tail, not going to drop our chin we're just going to keep pushing through and learn from it. We will come out the other side better for it"
In years past, it was clear that the Colts lacked accountability from top to bottom after losses. The Shane Steichen-led Colts are going to be different, and while he wasn't perfect on Sunday, you better believe he's going to use this loss to improve not only himself but his football team.
