The 6-1 Indianapolis Colts are arguably the hottest team in the NFL through seven weeks. They have the best record in the league and have scored the most points of any team. In Week 8, they will get the chance to complete a season sweep over their AFC South rivals, the Tennessee Titans. Before that matchup kicks off, though, both teams released their final injury reports of the week, and the Colts got positive news while the already struggling Titans will now be shorthanded as well.

The Colts are getting multiple key players back on the field this week. WRs Ashton Dulin and Josh Downs return after missing last week’s game. Getting Downs back is major, as he is the starting slot and arguably the Colts’ top route runner. Dulin is also important, though, as he is the team’s top special teamer and their first reserve WR anytime Michael Pittman Jr. and/or Alec Pierce need a breather.

The team will be without Tyquan Lewis, which could open up their rotation on the edge, but more this week. It could be a massive opportunity for rookie JT Tuimoloau to get more runs this week and try to stake his claim for a bigger role going forward. In an ideal world, the Colts are able to pull away from the Titans early, and Tuimoloau can operate as a starter late in this game.

  • Blake Hance, OL – Out
  • Bryce Oliver, WR – Out
  • Calvin Ridley, WR – Out
  • Jeffery Simmons, DT – Out
  • L’Jarius Sneed, CB – Out (IR)
  • Xavier Woods, S – Questionable

The 1-6 Titans will be without multiple key players

A game where the Titans were already major underdogs just got even tougher for them. The team placed their top CB L’Jarius Sneed on IR this week, but it will also be without star DT Jeffery Simmons and top WR Calvin Ridley. They also ruled their top edge rusher, Arden Key, as questionable. If the Titans are going to pull off the upset, they will have to overcome the mountains of injuries that have piled up.
