The 2025 NFL season has never felt closer with the full schedule being released on Wednesday.

The Indianapolis Colts now know their full schedule, and the team has some eye-opening moments on the horizon. With each week now planned, I took my shot at predicting the result for each game on the Colts' schedule to share my knee-jerk reaction record prediction for the team.

Colts 2025 record prediction

Week 1: vs. Miami Dolphins (W)
The Colts' season opener is against the Dolphins and their explosive passing offense, which will be a great way to test their new secondary led by their pair of big free agency signings, corner Charvarius Ward, and safety Cam Bynum. As they and the rest of the secondary try to limit Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and prevent Tua Tagovailoa from carving their defense up. I weirdly like the Colts' chances in this game, and the Dolphins' secondary most likely losing Jalen Ramsey in the coming weeks makes me believe even more that the Colts get the win here.

Week 2: vs. Denver Broncos (L)

Week 3: at Tennessee Titans (W)

Week 4: at Los Angeles Rams (L)
Matthew Stafford might not be viewed as a tier one QB still in the NFL, but he is still fantastic. He is the exact type of QB that the Colts have struggled to slow down in the past, which is why the Colts changed their defensive philosophy this offseason. Lou Anarumo's scheme is meant to make life harder on QBs than we saw from Gus Bradley's defense over the years. Ultimately, I think Stafford gets the better of a Colts defense that will likely have some bumps while they get comfortable early in the year, leading to a Colts loss in Week four.

Week 5: vs. Las Vegas Raiders (W)

Week 6: vs. Arizona Cardinals (W)

Week 7: at Los Angeles Chargers (L)

Week 8: vs. Tennessee Titans (W)
The Colts' first two divisional games of the season come against the Titans, both in the first eight weeks of the season. The Colts were able to sweep the Titans last season, but they added Cam Ward to take over their starting QB spot. All signs point towards the Titans being improved in 2025, but I don't think it will be enough. Rookie QBs struggle against Anarumo as he can bait them into mistakes and confuse them with the number of coverages he funnels through on any given Sunday. This makes me believe that the Colts will get the sweep here.

Week 9: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (W)
The Steelers are a hard team to predict because the obvious question looms: Will Aaron Rodgers be their QB? I think he ultimately will, but I still have concerns about the Steelers' roster as a whole. Their offensive line still has multiple glaring weak spots, and they really didn't improve any of their weaknesses from a year ago. This is one where I probably would give a close win to whoever was the home team, and in this case, it happens to be the Colts.

Week 10: vs. Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, Germany (W)

Week 11: Bye Week

Week 12: at Kansas City Chiefs (L)
Fresh off a bye and a trip overseas, the Colts get to travel to Arrowhead to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. The last time the two teams played was in 2022, when the Colts pulled off the upset during one of the worst years of the team's recent history. It goes even further than that, though, with the Colts winning four of the last five. I think their luck runs out here, though, and Patrick Mahomes and the reigning AFC champs get the win.

Week 13: vs. Houston Texans (W)

Week 14: at Jacksonville Jaguars (L)

Week 15: at Seattle Seahawks (W)

Week 16: vs. San Francisco 49ers MNF (L)
The Colts got one primetime game this season: Week 16 vs. the 49ers at home. The 49ers lost multiple notable players this offseason, one of which signed with the Colts in Charvarius Ward. But I think the 49ers are going to rebound off a tough 2024 season and return to being one of the top teams in the NFC, and I think the Colts fall short in this one.

Week 17: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (W)
The Colts having to play the Jaguars twice in a four-week span isn't ideal, but if they do continue their streak of losing in Jacksonville, as I predict here, their mistakes in the first matchup should still be fresh on their minds for Week 17. I think the Jaguars will be drastically improved this year with their new coaching staff in place and the moves their new front office also made. I have the Colts splitting this series, and the easy play is to go with each team winning their home game.
Week 18: at Houston Texans (L)
The Texans are the top dogs in the AFC South until someone comes in and knocks them off their pedestal. Like my explanation for the Jaguars series above, I think the Colts end up splitting the season series with the Texans. I wish this Week 18 game was the home matchup so I could flip when the win comes, but I didn't get to make the schedule. So if this game decides the winner of the AFC South, the Colts would have to do it on the road in Houston. They could certainly do it, but at this time, I can't predict that to be the outcome.

Record prediction: 10-7
A 10-7 year would be a significant step in the right direction for the Colts. You would assume 10-7 is enough to at least own one of the AFC wildcard spots. But there is undoubtedly a world where it's good enough to win the AFC South. If Anthony Richardson wins the starting QB job and takes the team to a 10-7 record and to his first playoffs, I'd call this a very successful season, and I think the Colts would too.
