The Indianapolis Colts are putting their undefeated record to the test in Week 4 as they have traveled across the country to take on the 2-1 Los Angeles Rams. The Rams’ only loss this season came last week against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. This will be a challenging task for the Colts to take down Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ high-powered offense. To make it even more difficult, their inactives list includes multiple starters.

The Colts are down three starters this week, which isn’t a surprise after head coach Shane Steichen ruled each of them out following Friday’s practice. With Goncalves out, look for the Colts to roll with second-year player Dalton Tucker, who made multiple starts for the team last year. Tucker struggled in pass protection as a rookie but showed himself to be a strong body mover in the run game. This could lead the Colts to lean even more on star RB Jonathan Taylor if Tucker’s absence hinders Daniel Jones and the passing game early.

That isn’t the only injury that could impact the passing game with the Colts leading WR from 2024, Alec Pierce, also missing this game after leaving Week 3 with a concussion. Without him in the lineup, the Colts will give Adonai Mitchell his largest role of the season. They will look for him to show significant improvement after struggling with drops as a rookie. He is coming off a stellar training camp, though, and could rise to the occasion today to prove he deserves more snaps going forward.

Last but not least, the Colts will also be without their starting slot CB Kenny Moore II. Moore suffered a calf injury in Week 3 that the team is now referring to as an Achilles injury. This will probably sideline him for multiple weeks, and to replace him, the Colts signed Mike Hilton to their practice squad. They elevated him to the active roster for today’s game, and the expectation is that he will slide right into Moore’s starting spot and play a significant role in today’s game.
