Indianapolis Colts fans are running on little patience. That much is evident with the search for a franchise quarterback ongoing with just weeks before the 2023 NFL Draft.
Lamar Jackson is the talk of social media for several Colts fans. Jackson is an MVP-winning quarterback that can change the course of a game on any given play. He happens to be available, with he and the Baltimore Ravens not seeing eye-to-eye on an extension.
Colts legend Reggie Wayne has heard the talk, and he took to Twitter to send a message to the fan base. Basically, he wants everybody to know that he can't get his kids to listen to him, much less the Indianapolis Colts franchise.
"I'm still trying to get my kids to listen to me," Wayne tweeted this week. "Let alone (an) organization."
Regardless of how much Colts fans want Wayne to make the deal happen, there's little that the wide receivers coach can do at this point. And his tweet is a hilarious reminder that these coaches and players are on social media, too.
Obviously, Jackson would be a franchise-changing addition for the Indianapolis Colts. He is exactly what the team has been looking for these past few years: a bonafide franchise signal caller.
His fit would be seamless with head coach Shane Steichen. There's little doubt at all that Wayne would enjoy coaching his unit to catch passes from the dynamic playmaker behind center.
At this point, the safe bet seems to be the Indianapolis Colts adding a quarterback through the draft. However, the Lamar Jackson hype is certainly a thing. So much that Reggie Wayne had to address it in an epic way.
