While the Indianapolis Colts will have to wait at least four weeks for Anthony Richardson to return to the field, one of the most electric NFL QBs of all time had quite the praise to give the rookie.
Michael Vick paved the way for mobile QBs to become more normal in today's NFL, and he has high praise to give on the type of player he sees in Anthony Richardson.
Vick sees a QB in Richardson that is more than just a runner, he sees a real dual threat. A player that can be one of the best in the NFL and a guy that truly keeps NFL defenses on their toes at all times.
I've been told that the Colts see Richardson in the same light. Their belief in their young QB played a big part into why they moved their extension timeline up to pay RB Jonathan Taylor even.
Richardson's athleticism has been fully on display to start his NFL career, but unfortunately, he's had awful injury luck, as he's suffered a concussion as well as now being on the IR with a shoulder injury.
When he returns from injury, the Colts will put an even larger focus on keeping their QB healthy and protecting him from big hits going forward. As they and others are starting to believe they have finally found their next franchise QB.
