The Dallas Cowboys drafted Gallimore out of Oklahoma in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the first four years of his career with the Cowboys and appeared in 52 games. He made 14 starts in Dallas, nine of which came in his rookie season. In 2024, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams, appeared in 14 games, and made four starts.

During his five-year career, he has recorded 109 total tackles, four sacks, and 11 tackles for loss. So it's safe to say he hasn't been a very productive pro to date. But I can see why the Colts would be interested due to his athletic profile and his solid play in the postseason with the Rams.

In 14 regular season games with the Rams, Gallimore didn't record a single sack but came to play in the playoffs. In two games, he recorded 2.5 sacks, six total tackles, two tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, and even forced a safety. During the team's wildcard round matchup vs. the Minnesota Vikings, he recorded 1.5 sacks and earned Rams' highest run-defense grade from PFF with an 80.1. He followed up this solid performance in the divisional round against the Philadelphia Eagles by recording an additional sack, this time for a safety.

Gallimore's role with the Colts

It will be interesting to see what role the Colts envision for Gallimore. During his career, he's played multiple roles from the 1T (NT) to the 3T, as well as playing some defensive end this past year with the Rams. The Colts are looking for replacements for both key reserve DTs from 2024 Taven Bryan and Raekwon Davis because both are no longer on the team's roster. I think Gallimore's upside as a nose tackle who, on top of being a solid run stopper, offers you some extra juice than typically see out-of-depth NTs. But his versatility could be enticing to the Colts because they can wait and see how the 2025 NFL Draft board falls, add any style of DT they want, and decide where to have Gallimore compete in training camp afterward.
