The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they will be starting a former Jacksonville Jaguar this Sunday.

Former Jaguars starting QB Gardner Minshew will return to Jacksonville as the starter for the Colts.

The Jaguars drafted Gardner Minshew with the 178th pick in the 6th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He would start 12 games for the Jaguars in his rookie season and finished with a 6-6 record. He ended his rookie year throwing for 3,271 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Things were looking good for Minshew's future with the Jaguars following his strong rookie season. He would go on to be the Week 1 starter for the 2020 season, a season that would go on to be his final with the Jaguars after the team went 1-7 in games he started.

The lone win coming in Week 1 in Jacksonville when the team hosted the Colts. Minshew was near perfect on the day completing 19 of his 20 pass attempts for 173 yards and three touchdowns.

He now will return to Jacksonville for the first time since being traded away from the team this Sunday and will now be on the opposite side of the field. This will be the 2nd time he has faced the Jaguars since being traded away to the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was Jalen Hurts backup when the teams played in Philadelphia last season.

The Jaguars chose to move on from Minshew after just two seasons, and he now will go head to head with his replacement Trevor Lawerence this Sunday. This week the Jaguars and the Colts will face off as the top two ranked teams in the AFC South as both currently sit at 3-2 on the year. The winner will be alone at the top of the AFC South at 4-2, the loser will move to 3-3. Minshew mania is returning to Jacksonville but this time he will be wearing blue and white with his only goal to defeat his former team.
