Colts sign CFL WR Ajou Ajou

The Colts are signing CFL WR Ajou Ajou. Ajou most recently played in the CFL for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders. This past season was his first in the CFL after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2024 CFL draft, and he finished the season with 20 catches, 307 yards, and two touchdowns.
Before joining the CFL, Ajou had a three-year career at the D1 level of NCAA. He spent his first two years at Clemson before transferring to South Florida for his last season. He finished his college career at Garden City Community College. Though he was ranked as a four-star recruit and was viewed as a top 50 WR in his high school class, he wasn't able to make much of an impact. He finished his D1 career with only 10 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown.
The Colts weren't the only teams to show interest in Ajou, he also reportedly worked out for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos. Per CFL sources, multiple NFL teams have worked Ajou out as a TE instead of as a WR. The CFL's official website has him listed at 6'3" 218 lbs. The Colts have a much larger need at TE, and Ajou would have a significantly better chance of making their 2025 roster at TE than at WR. So, if I had to guess, I think we end up seeing the Colts list him as a TE when they release their training camp roster later this offseason. To better understand Ajou, here are his results from the CFL's 2024 combine.
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 211 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.85 seconds
Vertical: 34"
Broad Jump: 10' 5 3/4"
3-Cone: 7.01 seconds
Shuttle: 4.43 seconds
Bench Press: 12
I decided to input these numbers into the RAS Calculator to calculate his Relative Athletic Score, better known as RAS. At the tight end position, it came in at an unofficial 3.90. His numbers came out more favorably at WR, with a 5.28.

NFL source predicts that the Colts will break an embarrassing curse that has gone on for far too long in 2025
2024 was a frustrating season for fans of the Indianapolis Colts. They fell short of their goal of winning the AFC South for an eleventh straight year. A division the Colts once dominated has now seen each team win it twice since the last time the Colts could call themselves the AFC South champions. One high-ranking […]
