Like the rest of the NFL, the Indianapolis Colts are in the thick of their preparations for the 2025 NFL Draft.

The college all-star games and the NFL Scouting Combine are in the rearview mirror, and pro days are off and running. Any contact with top draft prospects could be notable this time of year, and NFL insider Albert Breer shared that the Colts are hosting a polarizing prospect ahead of the draft for a top 30 visit

Colts set to have Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers in for a top 30 visit ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft

"Just as newsworthy is what’s happening around Ewers’s pro day. The plan is for him to meet with the Jets and Las Vegas Raiders today and have dinner with the New Orleans Saints brass tonight, with all three teams expected to send big crews to Austin. He’s already has 30 visits set up with the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts and Raiders for early April.

So, yes, there’s a lot of intrigue here. And rightfully so."

Breer shared that the Colts are scheduled to host Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers for a top-30 visit sometime before the NFL Draft. This will be the second reported meeting between Ewers and the Colts, the first being a formal interview at the scouting combine. It seems safe to assume the team will have solid representation at Texas' pro day on March 25.

Ewers is a former five-star QB prospect who committed to Ohio State before transferring to Texas, where he was their starter for three seasons. At Texas, Ewers made 36 starts and threw for 9,128 yards, 68 touchdowns, and only 24 interceptions. There was a time when many expected Ewers to be a first-round pick when he declared for the NFL Draft. And though he is coming off his best collegiate season, his up-and-down play over the years has led him to be a pretty polarizing prospect. And with Anthony Richardson's future with the team up in the air entering his third season, the Colts seem to be doing their homework on a former top QB prospect.

Breer also shared what Ewers' plans are for Texas' Pro Day. This will be Ewers's final chance to show the Colts and other NFL teams that he still could be a franchise QB, as many believed he could be when his career began, and therefore worth selecting high in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"When he and I talked at the combine, the former had finally healed, and the latter was getting there. Now, a little more than three weeks later, he’ll be as healthy throwing the ball as he has been since Texas’s early-September win at Michigan (his oblique was initially injured in that game). He plans to go through a 60-throw script that he worked on with ex-NFL OC Rich Scangarello, throwing to Isaiah Bond, Matthew Golden, Gunner Helm, Jaydon Blue and Silas Bolden."
